The Heydays Christmas angel
One of the things we stand by is that it takes a special type of person to be a carer, and there are certain traits that we look for when we interview potential candidates. We're proud to have a team of wonderful, compassionate, committed carers who are genuinely warm and caring individuals that go out of their way to help others. The following little story really demonstrates this and was too sweet not to share...
On 11th December, our Barrow office received a call from a lady in the Midlands who had to been attempting to purchase a specific Christmas toy for her daughter. Having tracked down the very last one of these toys in the country at Smyths Toystore in Barrow, they were unable to post it out to her. She googled companies in the area who offered help and came across heydays. She rang us and explained her situation and asked if we could help. Senior carer, Paula jumped to the rescue and went and collected it and posted it out to her. The lady was so grateful and sent us a lovely email, followed by a bouquet of flowers for Paula (pictured).
This was her email:
"I just want to say a huge thank you to you all at Heydays Care and Support, especially the lovely Paula. What a phenomenal team who are so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble.
After finding the one thing my 6 year old daughter really wanted for Christmas was sold out across the country with one exception - a single baby paws husky at Smyth’s toys superstore in Barrow in Furness, I was desperate! They wouldn’t post it to me so I googled companies that run errands thinking if I did a click and collect I could perhaps find someone to post it down to me in the midlands! I came across Heydays care and called them, thinking why on earth would they help me, but they couldn’t have been more amazing. Lovely Paula went out straight away to collect it from the store, wrapped it up and posted it down to me and all at her own expense. Paula has literally saved Christmas for us and I am genuinely so grateful. I cannot thank you enough, Paula you really are our Christmas angel ????
