New live-in care service launched in South Cumbria

Leading South Lakes and Furness home care provider, Heydays Care and Support Services have recently added a live-in care service to their portfolio.

As a well-established local home care provider, Heydays decided to take action to address a gap in local care provision by extending their care service to include one-to-one full-time support provided by a live-in carer to clients in South Cumbria.

Co-Founder Kelly Shaw said, “Over the years we’ve cared for many clients locally who have either had to move to a care home or find a live-in carer when their care needs became greater.

This was not only a big change for them and their families but also very stressful. We’ve realised that live-in care is a service we can offer, which helps to make the next step a smooth transition without uprooting individuals from their homes, their friends and family and their local community.”

Heydays live-in care is a service that allows clients to live within their home environment safely, surrounded by familiar comforts and routines with the support, care and companionship of a fully-trained and qualified carer that is matched to them.

As a Palliative Care Awards Finalist in the 2023 national Home Care Awards, Heydays are well known for their outstanding end of life expertise, working closely with the local district nurses and hospitals, as well as St Mary’s Hospice where the Heydays staff have previously received training in specialist palliative care.

Whilst there are other national care providers that offer the service, Heydays say that there are significant benefits of being a local company.

We have two local offices in Grange and Barrow and all our staff live locally and know the area. We know what goes on in the community and what provisions and activities are available for our clients,” says Kelly.

Heydays now offer two live-in care packages including a Companionship package that provides care and support for clients that need minimal assistance and personal care tasks and have good mobility. There is also a second package that is suited to clients requiring a greater level of support with personal care, dementia care, reduced mobility and incontinence care.
